My name is Phil Schroeder, and I’ve served as the high school Model United Nations Director at St. Johnsbury Academy Jeju since 2020. Over the past five years, it has been a genuine pleasure to know and collaborate with Nick Harris as fellow international educators in Jeju’s Global Education City. As a long-time MUN advisor, I’ve always appreciated our conversations about Model UN and international education.
For a decade, Nick was the “godfather of MUN” in Jeju, shaping the conference style that many schools have since adopted. His warm and approachable nature makes it easy to connect with him on a wide range of topics, and I’m grateful to count him as both a colleague and a friend.

High school MUN director at St. Johsnbury Academy Jeju
My name is Alison Tuck, and I was the Model United Nations Director at North London Collegiate School on Jeju Island from 2019 to 2022. It was a pleasure working alongside Nick and the other Directors from schools across the island. Nick is deeply knowledgeable about Model United Nations, and his energy and organizational skills are second to none.
What stood out most to me was the agency he gave students, empowering them to take ownership in organizing and managing conferences. This is, in my view, one of the defining strengths of MUN and something Nick fostered exceptionally well.
Although I arrived on Jeju with experience in various MUN conference settings, I still learned a great deal from Nick. I feel incredibly fortunate to have been part of such a well-run and inspiring organization. His leadership and generosity of spirit are outstanding. He is not only a great colleague, but also a great friend.

Level 2 MUN Adviser Certificate - Best Delegate
My name is Kyle Pash and I have served as the coach for the MUN teams at Yongsan International School of Seoul and International Christian School Hong Kong since 2016. In that time my teams have traveled to MUN conferences at Ivy League schools (e.g. Penn, Brown, and Dartmouth) and in diverse cities (e.g. Seoul, Chennai, and Dubai). So when I say that Nick Harris founded the smoothest and most professional conference that I have ever attended, please understand it in this context.
The Global Education City MUN conference (GECMUN), along with the newer Jeju MUN conference (JejuMUN), are creative, competitive, and compelling conference experiences for students. He was a pioneer for both UNA-USA styled conferences and Crisis committees in South Korea. But Nick has not merely left a legacy of organizational excellence–he has been a fellow coach who finds joy through empowering others schools to be the best they can be. He has been a key figure in my own growth as a coach and I cannot recommend him enough.
Kyle Pash
HS Chaplain at Yongsan International School of Seoul and MUN Adviser
It is with great pleasure that I endorse Nick Harris. I’ve worked with him both as a colleague and as a competitor at various conferences, including the one he originated and coordinated, arguably the best MUN conference in Korea, if not Asia.
Nick ran one of the most professional, innovative conferences I’ve seen, and my teams have attended Ivy League-affiliated events in both North America and Asia. Blending the best of UNA-USA and THIMUN models, he and his team offered creative, relevant topics, managed logistics flawlessly, and handled any issues with wisdom and speed. His student delegates were consistently sharp, well-prepared, and solution-oriented.
As an educator and friend, Nick stands out even more. He’s grounded in sound pedagogy, earns his students’ respect, and brings thoughtfulness and open-mindedness to every conversation. In a field often pulled by extremes, Nick has always been a voice of balance and clarity. I miss working with him in the MUN world and always look forward to hearing how he's doing. If ever I faced a tough educational challenge, Nick would be one of the first people I’d call.

I’ve known Mr. Harris for over a decade as a teacher, mentor, and friend, and what sets him apart is his passion, drive, and ability to turn ideas into action. He leads with heart, and his energy consistently inspires those around him to aim higher.
Together, we co-founded a Model United Nations conference that began as a local initiative with just 200 participants. We led the first two iterations side by side. After I graduated high school, Mr. Harris took full leadership, and under his guidance, the conference evolved into a truly international event. Now in its 11th year, it welcomes over 300 students from across the Asia-Pacific region. That level of growth is a direct reflection of his vision, creativity, and long-term commitment.

Nick served as Model United Nations (MUN) Advisor and Coach at Escuela Internacional Sampedrana (EIS) under my leadership.
In my 35 years directing Co Curricular Activities in Honduras and at the international level, I have had the privilege of working alongside many outstanding MUN coaches and advisors, and Nick Harris undoubtedly stands among the very best. His enthusiasm, reliability, trustworthiness, and exceptional leadership left a lasting legacy at EIS, one that continues to shape and inspire our students long after his tenure. Nick has a remarkable gift for empowering student leaders, fostering teamwork, and building a sense of purpose and confidence in the young people he mentors. His ability to connect with others, create meaningful impact, and deliver excellence sets him apart.
Beyond his professional talents, Nick is simply a wonderful human being — a person of deep integrity, empathy, and positivity.
I recommend Nick Harris wholeheartedly and without reservation as a MUN consultant to help new programs or take existing programs to the next level.

Working with Nick on Model United Nations initiatives has been an inspiring experience. His professionalism in coordinating complex, high-profile events is evident in every detail from clear communication to thoughtful planning, but what sets him apart is his unwavering dedication to student growth.
He brings a deep passion for coaching students, not just to succeed in debate, but to develop into engaged, empathetic global citizens. His attention to detail ensures that events run smoothly, but it’s his empathy and cultural competence that make him an exceptional leader in these spaces.
Whether he's guiding a first-time delegate or engaging with visiting schools, he fosters an environment of mutual respect and shared purpose. His ability to build bridges and align diverse stakeholders around a common goal makes every event he leads not only a success but a meaningful learning experience for all involved. His leadership reflects the very values Model UN seeks to instill: diplomacy, collaboration, and global awareness.

Legendary.” That’s the only way to describe Mr. Harris and the impact he had through No Borders Model United Nations (NBMUN). At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, he co-founded NBMUN, a fully online MUN conference that ran successfully for three years, breaking new ground in global student collaboration. Under his leadership, NBMUN brought together chairs and secretariat members from over five countries and ten different schools. Even more impressively, the delegates represented more than ten countries and over twenty schools. It was a truly international event in every sense, a space where diplomacy, education, and innovation thrived despite the challenges of a global lockdown. Beyond the educational value, Mr. Harris ensured the conference made a real-world impact: raising over $3,000 for UNICEF through delegate fees and donations.
He is the most knowledgeable person I know when it comes to planning conferences and expanding Model United Nations programs as he has done around the world.

I worked with Nick for four years at Korea International School Jeju.
We collaborated in the humanities department and as Directors of the MUN club. When the world shut down during the pandemic, Nick flourished. He immediately worked at standing on the frontlines of innovation in the classroom and in MUN. We had been hosting multiple conferences at our school, and while I was thinking about shutting it all down, Nick doubled down.
Not only did he find ways to innovate and still host our conferences digitally, but he also spearheaded a groundbreaking digital conference, No Borders MUN. This conference allowed all the students from around the world who were desperately seeking normalcy, to find it in the form of MUN. That is what you get with working with Nick Harris - innovation, excellence, and passion.

Former MUN Adviser for Korea International School Jeju and NIST (Thailand) current adivser at International School of Frankfurt
It has been a true privilege to work alongside Nick and witness firsthand the incredible impact he has made through MUN. Nick’s knowledge, drive, and creativity have elevated every MUN program he’s touched, but his work at Korea International School Jeju stands as a crowning achievement. Over four years, I had the pleasure of watching him build not just a thriving MUN community, but a lasting legacy.
Nick didn’t just lead MUN, he created the program and transformed it. Under his guidance, KISJ became home to two major student conferences, with GECMUN emerging as the flagship event. Drawing in hundreds of delegates and advisors from across Asia, GECMUN was a masterclass in student-centered leadership and logistical excellence. What set Nick apart was his unwavering commitment to student voice. He empowered students at every level, fostering a culture of ownership, diplomacy, and excellence that resonated across our campus and far beyond.
Thanks to Nick’s leadership, MUN became the largest and most influential co-curricular program at KISJ. His work served as a blueprint for other schools in the GEC and raised the standard for what a student-run conference could look like. Nick’s impact is undeniable, and his legacy will continue to inspire students and educators for years to come.

I first got involved in Model United Nations (MUN) through Mr. Harris, who quickly recognized my potential as both a leader and an organizer. With his mentorship, I not only chaired multiple committees but also took on major roles in organizing regional MUN competitions, experiences that honed my skills in leadership, logistics, negotiation, and strategic planning. These experiences continue to be a foundation for my work today. Thanks to Mr. Harris’s leadership as our program adviser, our team achieved success at several international and domestic conferences. He also wrote my letter of recommendation, which helped me gain admission to NYU. I highly recommend Mr. Harris as a tutor, mentor, and teacher.

Mr.Harris is an expert when it comes to mentorship. As a former MUNer, I had the privilege to be part of his team, arrange the second-to-largest MUN conference in the nation, and to train future aspiring mentees. He knows how to treat people with diligence, which sets him far apart from other formulaic mentors. He was also a caring AP psychology teacher, who always prepared students for the Advanced Placement exam with intricate questions. He wrote my letter of recommendation, which helped me get admitted to Keio University. He exceeds the standards when it comes to mentorship, and I’m confident that anyone who works with Mr.Harris will experience the same.

Meeting Mr. Harris first as a soccer coach and later as a psychology teacher, I learned a lot from him both inside and outside the classroom.
On the soccer field, he taught me how to withstand challenges and grow every day. In the classroom, he helped me better understand myself and the people around me. Mr. Harris was one of the few teachers who I felt truly knew me, not just as a student, but as a person, which is why I asked him for a letter of recommendation. His guidance and inspiration continue to stay with me as I move forward in my academic and athletic journey.
